Sending condolences and wanted to let you know that I am very thankful for Dr. Irwin's work and book. My last baby was stillborn due to preeclampsia. I just finished Dr Irwin's book and had hoped to thank him. I wanted you to know that his work is still being read and valued. I am placing an order for recommended supplements and sharing with a friend who was concerned about pregnancy and being older. I learned about the book through Dr Eric berg on YouTube. Dr Irwin's work is being shared and implemented. Thank you!

Dr. Irwin was always a very compassionate physician. He showed his caring for his patients and fellow care givers. It was an honor for me to work along side of him assisting with deliveries.

I went into labor a month early with my first baby. I remember saying "But I haven't finished my Lamaze classes". He turned to me, smiled and said "No, but I see you've been finishing your dinners". Only Dr. Irwin could get away with that. He was exactly the kind of doctor that I wanted as a young, excited, soon-to-be mother. And seeing him for the second and third baby was just as important. Sending my condolences to all of the Irwin Family.

To Dr. Irwin's Family, So sorry for your loss! He was a great and genuine doctor! He delivered my beautiful daughter in 1980. In 1983,the Supervising nurse, caught my handsome son with a towel, while I was still in the labor room! The doctor was on his way from his office, but wasn't there in time! My mom was truly grateful, for him helping her with her problem! May he R.I.P. 1983 The Supervising nurse at CHH, caught my son with a towel, while I was still in the labor room.

To Dr. Irwin's Family, I send my sincere sympathy for your loss. As most posts here say, he was a wonderful man. I was fortunate to have Dr. Irwin as my Ob/Gyn until his retirement. He delivered my first 2 children. He sat in a rocker next to my bed and held my hand as I labored with my first baby. He calmed so. I feel blessed to have known him and share in your sadness.

Dr. Irwin was a wonderful doctor! One of my sons had the umbilical cord wrapped around his head 4 times. Dr. Irwin very calmly told my wife that he needed to move her to the OR. That son is now a PA working in an emergency room at a local hospital. Not only was he highly competent, he had a very soothing manner that helped the expectant mothers to relax. His research work was truly revolutionary and he was not afraid to challenge the medical establishment. His dedication and professionalism were always evident. Fortunately I did get the chance to thank him, he very humbly gave me a quiet smile.

I was living in Cornwall CT when I first knew Dr. Irwin. He was not my doctor when I had just delivered my third daughter at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington. And I was a mess. I had toxemia and a huge thrombosis in my leg. My knee was swollen and red and on fire. My regular doctor, Dr Brad Walker, called in Dr Irwin for a consultation, when I began to heal from his remedy of masses doses of Vitamin E. How thankful I was. So later, when I delivered my two sons, Dr. Irwin was there. I gave my last son, the middle name John, for my memory, mostly. And why not? Dr. Irwin was so good to me. I remember when I was set to have one son just around Christmas. I already had three children at home, and my husband was inviting his Italian relatives from Toronto over for Christmas, to stay days! I broke down in tears to Dr. Irwin and he then counseled my husband. We could not afford help, so the relatives did not come for Christmas. Again I was so thankful for his care of me. Remember that coffee bean poster in his office? When women are stressed in Child birth, how wonderful to have a doctor like Dr. Irwin.

Dr. Irwin was such a gentle man and kind caring person. He was there for me at some of the most difficult times in my life but also delivered two healthy beautiful sons. Every time I look at my daughter, I think of Dr. Irwin. He used a (then, 1960) unusual medication to stop my labor at just shy of 6 months. When I thanked him for saving my baby for me, he said, "I had help from the man upstairs." I will always remember his humility in giving God the credit. I'm sure he now rests in Jesus' loving arms.

Dr. Irwin was my hero. When I was pregnate with twins in 1980 Dr. Irwin was my doctor. I found out that there was something wrong with one of the babies and had testing done several times. When the testing was not sucessful with the fetus that was normal and more testing needed to be done, I couldn't bear to go through this again. Dr. Irwin closed his office and came to Farmington Medical Center with me and held my hand throughout the ordeal. He was unable to do anything else but he was there for me and my husband when we couldn't find out whether or not both babies were affected. He advised us to trust in God and hope for the best. We didnt abort our beautiful babies. When bedridden, this wonderful man, drove to my home and did my examinations. He delivered our beautiful daughters, unfortunately one died, but with his treatment and God's love, one was born beautiful and healthy. When my baby died, Dr. Irwin was there to hold my hand. I will forever be grateful to this man and he wll be in my heart forever. Rest in peace, my friend, untl we meet again, may you forever rest in God's hands. You were and still are, MY HERO!
